Heading new Science Journalism
Masterclass for innovative projects

After great results from the Science journalism Masterclass 2014/15 and the inspiring cooperation with the first ten fellows I’m looking forward to heading the Masterclass 2016/17 for Robert Bosch Foundation and Reporter-Forum e.V. again. The Masterclass is a lab for innovative German-language journalism projects, this time in the fields of visualization, gaming, community building, regional reporting and small-screen storytelling. 30 fellows will take part in a 2-day workshop on innovative journalism in May 2016 in Berlin. 10 of them will receive a grant of up to 7000 Euros for freelancers and 4500 Euros for staff journalists for their projects in cooperation with a technical and a media partner. Teachers for the first Masterclass include Andrew de Vigal (see image – former multimedia director NYT, now Endowed Chair in Journalism Innovation), Simon Rogers (former Guardian, Twitter, now Google), Particia Lis, Laura lo Forti, Paul Salopek (2x Pulitzer winner, Out of Eden Project), Jens Harder (comic author) and Uwe H. Martin (photographer and multimedia producer and teacher).
